  　2011年12月5日到8日，应中华口腔医学会正畸专业委员会主任委员、正畸系赵志河教授的邀请，美国正畸协会（American Association of Orthodontists， AAO）现任主席Michael B. Rogers和美国西弗吉尼亚大学正畸科与儿科主任Peter Ngan教授访问，分别为全院师生做了题为“Fabrication of the Banded Herbst”,“Six Elements of Orofacial Harmony Application to Class III Treatment”的学术讲座，介绍了Herbst矫治器、平衡合理论的临床应用进展，受到了热烈好评。访问期间，两位教授还饶有兴趣地参观了口腔正畸科、口腔疾病研究国家重点实验室、校友廊及标本馆、并给予高度评价，认为医疗水平、临床研究已达到国际一流水平。

    通过此次学术交流，与国际高水平学者面对面，开拓了师生的眼界，增加了见识。
